On a sunny and gorgeous early spring day in Seattle, some local friends helped post some of the beautiful poetry posters by New Zealand and US Poets Robert Pinsky, Sam Hunt, Joe Treceno, Jay Clarkson, Sandra Bell and Janet Frame.

.
It's fun to see people stop as they bustle along the sidewalks, drawn in by the dramatic black and white posters softening the rough wood of the streetposts along Pine Street, Pike Street, Broadway, and Madison.  They read, they lean in and read the bios of the poets from New Zealand, from New York, Massachusetts, and their own town, Seattle.

It's like a mini-poetry revolution: beautifying the ragged streetposts and stopping passersby in their tracks, drawn in by poetry, by titles like "Keep it Up" and "Samarai Song": they are hungry for the distraction.
